A unique idea... I was approached by a Horse Rescue here in Golden Valley to make fly masks for their horses. At the time they had 14 horses that all desperately needed masks, but they could not afford to buy each of them masks due to the cost and the destructive nature of some of the rescue horses.
A unique idea was formed. Within 48 hours I had all 14 masks made of a special material that is used to supply shade for homes. The masks were an immediate hit with the horses. They could see farther due to the shading capability of the material and due to their lightweight nature (1.4 ounces compared to 2.8 ounces of traditional masks) they were like a second skin that didn't weigh them down. Horses that previously would fight to put masks on, suddenly WANTED them on and it was hard to get them off!
We then expanded our line to include Shade blankets for our hot summer Arizona sun. The material reduces the temperature under the blanket by up to 20 degrees. With shade being at a premium in Arizona shade is a necessity with temperatures that rise to 116 degrees. Our shade blankets provide instant relief from the blazing sun and their unique design allows for floating movement that keeps bodies cooler and flies from nesting on genital areas.
